Douglas G. Smith, MD

Douglas G. Smith is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Washington and an attending surgeon at Harborview Medical Center Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle Veterans Administration Medical Center and a consultant for the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Amputee Service. He currently serves as the Director of Prosthetics Research Study, Seattle, Washington and as the Medical Director for the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA). He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Washington State Medical Association. Doug attended the University of Notre Dame and University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. His Internship and Residency were performed at Loyola University Medical Center and a Fellowship in Foot, Ankle and Amputation Surgery under the direction of Sigvard T. Hansen, MD, and Ernest M. Burgess, MD at Harborview Medical Center and University of Washington.
